DIY: Concrete Paver Path

Build an attractive path to the outdoors with this simple concrete path.

You’ll need the following materials and tools:

  • Cement Mix
  • Mixing Bucket
  • Paver Mould
  • Rubber Gloves
  • Shovel
  • Wheelbarrow
  • Water Source

Step 1: Mix the cement with water, follow the instructions on the package while doing do. The concrete should have the consistency of oatmeal when it is ready to use and should be thick enough to hold an edge when you slice into it with a shovel.

Step 2: Scoop the concrete in with a shovel and fill in the paver mould. Ensure you fill each area.

Step 3: Spread the concrete around the mould and fill any gaps or low points. Make sure you have your rubber gloves on while doing so. Tap the mould to eliminate any air bubbles on the surface.

Step 4: Smooth out the concrete, while following the contours of the mould. Wipe away any excess.

Step 5: Allow the concrete to set. This should take a maximum of five minutes. Carefully remove the mould and for the next stretch, rotate the mould a quarter- turn and then place it beside the paver that you’ve just completed, while angling slightly incase you’re creating a curving pathway.

Step 6: Let the concrete cure overnight. Fill in any crack with dirt and wash away excess. Wet the ground around the newly formed pavers and help them settle. Voila! You have paved the way!
